The atmosphere is certainly a breath of fresh air (literally) just a stone's throw away from main traffic on Thong Lor. I was seated in the outdoors area where industrial fans with the water mist thingy cool you down.
Service is above average with responsive and polite staff. No complaints there.

The menu had the usual suspects of Thai dishes, along with some Western and regional Asian picks. Appetizer was a generous serving of pate served with a few slices of toast. Sadly, this was the best part of my meal. Main dish was Hainanese Chicken Rice (160 Bht, 3 stars recommended on the menu). This was sorely disappointing and probably the worse excuse for a plate of chicken rice I've ever encountered in my life. Every component of the dish tasted wrong and the rice was cooked to a soggy mash. Where the hell did they get their recipe? Even some places that sell chicken rice as their star dish can't get it right (Boon Tong Kiat Singapore Chicken Rice, across the street from J Avenue) so I guess ordering this at Greyhound was a leap of faith on my part. My friend's Elvis Burger looked like a much better option.

The saving grace of the meal was the inviting laidback atmosphere. Oh, and the many well dressed hi-so ice queens hiding behind giant designer sunglasses sashaying around looking hot, important, busy and hot (in that order) but actually having nothing to do on a Tuesday afternoon.

Greyhound serves Thai and European dishes in a European sidewalk café environment.
They did a really good job in designing the place and the staff is fairly well trained.

What I don't like about greyhound is the food. They do a good presentation, but the taste of the food is very often found wanting.
Try ordering the scallops or asparagus cream soup and you'll see what I mean.
The food that is ok to eat is just that, ok. If you go there looking for a great tasting meal you'll be disappointed, at least if you expect the food to taste as good as it and the atmosphere warrants.

But Greyhound in J avenue is a great place to sit down, have a light meal and just take in the people and surrounding area.
